Does this School Board make painfully stupid decisions or what. These people are so out of touch with the community it is ridiculous. If you have a group that feels like they are intellectually superior then they will be out of touch. If you have ever been a part of this system you would understand how pathetic it really is. If you could see this group first hand, you would vote for privatizing our schools.
They were proud that they spent $350,000 on a wireless Internet system for a school, where the chosen few students can access the Internet anywhere in the school. Right, I can really see the need for that. Personally, I would prefer that the present access to the Internet be improved for all students instead "state of the art" for a chosen very few.
Second, I don't like my taxes being wasted on fluff and bells and whistles to make it look like this ridiculous School Board appear competent!

Have you ever wondered why the school system uses Macintosh for their computers? IBM compatibles are cheaper to maintain and are far more mainstream.
The answer is:
Why would they teach a computer that the student potentially would have more knowledge on the subject? This way the teacher can teach the student on a computer that the student knows nothing about and will probably never use in private life. The teacher falsely looks competent. Now that's what I call preparing the student for the future, right?
